French Passé Composé – do you know these well enough for the exam?

I often here the claim…”I knew it yesterday…!” as if that should convince the examiner that really the student actually knows (well knew) their stuff. Unfortunately the day of the exam they just couldn’t summon up those drops from the well of knowledge…..

Either you know it or you don’t. This is the beauty of the cruel exam system – the bluffing days are over.

Log into the Virtual Classroom today (username and password is ‘frenchgrinds’) and see how much you know. I’ve opened limited access to a short quiz (5 questions) on the dreaded Passé Composé. It’s all anonymous so there’s no Name&Shame going on. If you find you are scoring low then maybe you need some help. Just let me know if you have any feedback.

Leaving Cert French Oral

The Oral exam represents a big portion of the exam and deserves your attention – good preparation will pay off. The fact also that the Oral exam is at the end of March means you can happily enter the written exam a few months later with those hard earned marks in your pocket :-)

There are a few simple tips that will hopefully help you with the oral. We will look at the document preparation at a later stage but in this blog I want to talk about some of the simple questions that you could be asked. They are many and varied – so you simply cannot ‘learn’ them all off by heart. You will need to understand questions that, like in English, will start with: who, when, where, how, why…..?
